This is a unique there and back 5 mile hike. The trail follows Dodd Creek almost the entire time and is a beautiful hike plenty of water cascades along the way. At 1.1 miles you will reach the first major waterfall, Murray Falls on Dodd Creek. A side trail will bring you to the base of the falls. Venturing down to the 1.3 mile mark is Xavier Falls. A very impressive waterfall accessed by a steep decent. It is seen fine from the trail and is not recommended you venture down the cliff. Although the Raven Cliffs trail isn’t difficult, the rocks along the trail give it a moderate rating. Continuing your trek you pass a plethora of rock slides and cascades until finally reaching the steepest part of the trail. It’s not far before you see the two 80 foot granite cliffs rising before you. As you reach the 2.5 mile ending point you can see a waterfall splitting the two cliffs. It is a great view when the water is flowing, but can be a little disappointing on dryer days. All in all, this is one of my favorite hikes, due to its beauty, flowering rhododendron and number of falls and cascades.
